Radskills Admissions process

Admissions

We want admissions to be clear, simple, and easy to follow. We also aim to reduce admin for commissioning bodies, including schools, local authorities, and families. So, we use a step-by-step process and keep you updated throughout.

Key session information

  • We offer up to 15 hours per week.
  • Each session is at least 2 hours.
  • We plan timetables around need and what is most likely to work well.

Our admissions process

1) Contact us

First, email info@radskills.uk.
Next, tell us a little about the young person and the support you need.

2) Share the right information

Then, we review what you send.
If we need more details, we ask for them. As a result, we can move faster later.

3) Meet with us

After we have the key information, we book a meeting. You can choose phone, Teams, or face-to-face.
In that meeting, we talk through needs, goals, and practical details.

Also, if the commissioning body has not visited yet, you can use this time to do a quick venue visit. This helps meet statutory quality assurance expectations in England.

4) Complete our referral form

Next, we ask you to complete our Referral Form.
This keeps all key details in one place before the student starts.
So, you do not need to repeat information across emails and calls.

5) Receive a cost forecast

Then, if we can meet need, we send a cost forecast.
We also share options if more than one approach could work.
After that, we wait for funding approval.

6) Meet the student

Once funding is approved, we meet with the student.
This step helps everyone check that the placement feels right.

7) Confirm the offer

Next, we confirm our offer in writing.
We also name the staff team and agree a start date.

8) Sign the Service Level Agreement

Then, the commissioning body signs the Service Level Agreement (SLA) and returns it to us.

9) Start the placement (with a “working towards” option)

Finally, the student starts.
Sometimes we agree a “working towards” start. This can make the move into placement easier.

During this time, we provide staff, equipment, and the venue for the agreed hours.
However, some students need time to settle. So, they may build up to their full hours.

In addition, we may adjust the days, times, or staffing with family agreement. That way, we find the best match and support success.

Tracking and reports

  • Daily tracking: Schools, local authorities, and families can view activities and attendance through a secure link.
  • Termly reports: We issue these in line with Ofsted quality assurance requirements.
  • Half-termly reports: You can request these if you need them.
